Duratron® PAI Index

Duratron® PAI was formerly known as Torlon® PAI

With its versatile performance capabilities and proven use in a broad range of applications, Duratron® PAI (polyamide-imide) shapes are offered in extruded, injection muolded, and compression moulded grades.

Duratron® PAI is the highest performing, melt processable plastic. It has superior resistance to elevated temperatures. It is capable of performing under severe stress conditions at continuous temperatures to 500°F (260°C). Parts machined from Duratron® PAI stock shapes provide greater compressive strength and higher impact resistance than most advanced engineering plastics.

Main properties of our range of Duratron® PAI sheet, rod and tube are:

  • Very high maximum allowable service temperature in air (250°C continuously)
  • Excellent retention of mechanical strength and stiffness over a wide temperature range
  • Extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion up to 250°C
  • Excellent wear & frictional behaviour (particularly Duratron® T4301 PAI)
  • Outstanding UV-resistance
  • Inherent low flammability
  • Exceptional resistance against high energy radiation (gamma and X-rays)
