Fluorosint® Index (Reinforced Polytetrafluorethylene/PTFE)

The unique properties of Fluorosint® are the result of a proprietary process in which synthetically manufactured mica is chemically linked to PTFE. This bonding results in properties not normally attainable in reinforced PTFE.

Main properties of our range of Fluorosint® sheet, rod and tube are:

  • Very high max. allowable service temperature in air (continuously 260°C)
  • Excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance
  • Good wear resistance
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Very good dimensional stability
  • Physiologically inert (only applies to FLUOROSINT® 207)
  • Good electrical insulating properties
  • Outstanding UV- and weather resistance
  • Inherent low flammability
