Ketron® Peek
(Polyetheretherketone)
The Ketron® PEEK group of materials is based on polyetheretherketone resin. This advanced material exhibits a unique combination of high mechanical properties, temperature resistance and excellent chemical resistance and is an extremely useful, popular and accessible advanced plastics material.
Ketron® PEEK grades offer chemical and hydrolysis resistance similar to PPS, but can operate at higher temperatures.
PEEK 1000 offers steam and wear resistance, while carbon-reinforced PEEK provides excellent wear capabilities. Our latest grade, PEEK HPV, offers outstanding bearing performance. PEEK can be used continuously to 480°F (250°C) and in hot water or steam without permanent loss in physical properties.
For hostile environments, PEEK is a high strength alternative to fluoropolymers.
PEEK carries a V-O flammability rating and exhibits very low smoke and toxic gas emission when exposed to flame.
Main properties of our range of PEEK sheet and rod are:
- Very high maximum allowable service temperature in air (250°C continuously, up to 310°C for short periods)
- Excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance
- Very low moisture absorption
- Inherently good wear and abrasion resistance
- Very good dimensional stability
- Excellent resistance to high energy radiation (gamma- and X-rays)
- Unaffected by continuous exposure to hot water or steam

Peek 1000
Ketron® Peek 1000 stock shapes are produced from virgin polyetheretherketone resin and offer the highest toughness and impact strength of all Peek grades. Previously known as Peek 450G

Peek HPV
The addition of PTFE, graphite and carbon fibres results in a Peek "Bearing Grade". Its excellent tribological properties (low friction, long wear, high PV-limits) make this grade especially suited for bearing and wear applications.Available colours: Black

Glass Filled Peek
This 30% glass fibre reinforced grade of Peek offers a higher stiffness and creep resistance than Peek 1000 and has a much better dimensional stability. Glass filled Peek is ideal for structural applications supporting high static loads for long periods of time at elevated temperatures.Available colours: Natural (brownish-grey)

Carbon Filled Peek
This 30% carbon fibre reinforced grade combines even higher stiffness mechanical strength and creep resistance than glass filled Peek with an optimum wear resistance. Moreover, the carbon fibres provide 3.5 times higher thermal conductivity than virgin Peek dissipating heat from the bearing surface faster.Available colours: Black
