PVC Strip Curtain - DIY Installation Guide for Bolt-on, Soffit Fix System

How do I install made to measure Bolt-on, Soffit Fix PVC Strip Curtains?

The following instruction guide demonstrates how to get professional results from our made to measure Bolt-on, Soffit Fix - PVC strip curtains.

  • Slide the M8 nuts into the centre slot and along the track
  • Place the brackets over the M8 nuts and tighten into position using the countersunk bolts
  • Place the brackets no more than 1200mm apart and no more than 200mm in from each end of the track
  • The "L" shapes brackets should be arranged so that each alternate bracket is facing the opposite side of the track
  • Slide the required number of M8 bolts down both sides of the track ready to receive the curtain strips
  • Secure the brackets with track attached to brickwork and concrete with raw-bolts, to steelwork with high tensile nuts & bolts and to timber with coach screws or large gauge wood screws
  • Push each pre drilled pvc strip over the bolts with the concave side facing the track
  • Hold each strip to the track using the aluminium plate, thread the M8 nuts onto the bolt but do not tighten fully
  • Slide the strip to the desired starting place before tightening the nuts
  • If you are including Red warning strips remember to position these first
  • Correct overlap*:
To achieve 100% overlap each strip must butt up to the next on both sides of the track, like this: industrial strip curtain with 100% overlap
For 50% overlap each strip should be placed at a distance from each other that it overlaps by a quarter of the width of each strip, like this: industrial strip curtain with 50% overlap
  • Finally trim the bottom of each strip to the desired length using a sharp knife
*nb It may not be possible to acheive the desired overlap - this will depend on the width of your top track.
